• Fares:
They are established by the Carrier and the average fare is generally
between €45 to €128 per person and per day. Fares indicated
for voyages under « Destinations » are
per person and include the cabin of
your choice with private facilities, full-board, port
taxes and the « deviation insurance
». This obligatory « deviation insurance » is required
by the Carrier and covers the company for the loss of the ship in case
it has to call at a harbour for an emergency, e.g. because of illness.
All fares apply to the roundtrip voyage, which means for the whole cargo
ship’s itinerary (otherwise mentioned). Of course, you can take
a single part of the voyage. Logs are innumerable and you can find some
samples under « Single outward and homeward».
Most of the shipping lines have a special fare for young children between
5 and 12 years old (discount between 20 and 50%) and also for young
people between 12 and 27 years old (between 15 and 20%).

Approximate number of days is given for each passage.
Prices can vary due to exchange rates, changes to voyage durations,
etc., therefore the fares shown are subject to alteration and should
be taken only as a guide.
• Cabins for passengers generally have the same characteristics of officer’s and are very comfortable. A great number of vessels offer « owner’s suites » which have a living room and a bed-room. Some cargo ships have only double cabins which can be taken for sole use.
• Booking and cancellation
conditions :
There are many cargo ships from different shipping lines (each one has
its own conditions). Nevertheless, you can find hereafter the conditions
generally applied :
Booking : On confirmation of a firm booking a deposit of 20-25% has to be paid. The final amount must be paid at the latest 30 days before departure and for some shipping lines till 45 days before departure. Some companies accept credit cards payement.
Cancellation fees :
-On cancellation more than 65 days before departure between € 51
et € 110 per person.
-On cancellation of 65 to 30 days before departure : 30% of the total
fare will be charged.
-On cancellation of less than 30 days before departure : 50% of the
total fare will be charged.
-On cancellation of less than 22 days : 100% of the total fare will
be charged.
