Zeebrugge is an important fishing port on the North sea, linked with the old
and picturesque city of Bruges by a channel 11 km long. The tiny archipelago
of Malta, in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea has three islands Malta, Gozo
, and Comino and two rocky islets, Cominotto and Filfla. It is known for the
enchantment of its landscapes.
Passing the Suez Canal is a great moment. Built in 1869 by french engineer
Ferdinand de Lesseps, it was inaugurated in 1869. Situated in egyptian territory,
it links the Red Sea with the Mediterranean, 161 km long and 40 to 100 m wide,
it has no locks unlike the Panama Canal. You will see Port Saïd at the
entrance, called « Cayenne of desert» and at the end of the Canal,
Suez city founded in the fifteenth century.
